 143 500 Km (86 000 miles). Full service history and the original manuals.

Date first registered = July 2001   We bought it new: it is not an ex-rental, etc. 

Berlina, Five-door saloon , dark blue metalico paint, alloy wheels with theft security locks/bolts.

Tyres, 195x60x 15 ins   Spare is new, all in good condition.  

Radio/CD: Bluetooth hands free for móviles, model.  Parrot CK3100,

Reason for selling:  We have ordered a new Ford Focus due in a few week's time.

We have the records of servicing by the Ford Agents, Garage Victoria in Fuengirola for the main services since new plus all other items bought, including a new battery in Dec 2006.  I have also regularly changed the oil and filter myself: never more longer than 10.000 km using the best quality synthetic oil.

We have full service history records including fuel records.  The car has averaged 47 mpg, or 6, 1 litres per 100 Km over its life.   I drive at normal speeds, not with fuel economy in mind, but also not racing either.

The Ford agency changed both belts, auxiliary (generator, etc.) and engine, toothed timing belt at 104.000 Km. (Ford recommend 105 000 Km for toothed belt, 150.000 Km for auxiliary belt) 

Next changes due, motor toothed belt at 230.000 Km and the auxiliary at 280.000.   At 20.000 Km a year that is four  years and six years, for each.

Three door/  ignition keys, two remotes and one service key.    For an English buyer, I have the Haynes service manual for this model.

The car was offered as a part exchange for the new one but although the Ford agents said although it is a very good car, they did not offer enough; the usual, “We have to give a warranty”.  We offer a warranty of one month against any serious faults or problems.   The car is in excellent mechanical condition and goes very well as a road-test will show.  As an ex-aircraft engineer and later heavy earthmoving and mining equipment engineer/manager, as well as a past tuner for racing and road motorcycles, I am very fussy about preventive maintenance and not abusing mechanical things.   The engine does not use any oil between 10.000 km oil changes.  The price asked is a negotiable but we are not “desperate” to sell as the new car is paid for already.  In fact, I will be sorry to sell it as it has been a terrific car and we have bought a new Focus as a result of our experiences with this one. 

It is an economical  “sports-car” with 4/5 seats, your chance to buy a reliable family car for a good price.   The  Ford  agents at Garage Victoria has one such Focus with over 275 000 km on the clock now.   Name and phone number supplied of the Service Advisor as well as the person who tested this car for the offered trade-in which we rejected.

Our last small car bought new in South Africa, a Toyota Corolla, was sold after 11 years and 223 000 km, still not using engine oil and with the original clutch.   The Focus, like all our cars, is never allowed to wait at traffic lights etc. with the foot on the clutch.

The annual ayuntamiento road tax is paid until next year.  In Marbella it is €110, 82 for 2008.

Price asked: €5 600, (the new model discounted price now is €17.000) which is the Spanish Dealer’s book-guide selling price for this car and year.  

We are NOT desperate to sell and we know at that price it is a very good buy for the  condition. 

Price includes transfer administration to new owner.
